Last word on University Park was that some private funders (including the Matthews, who also helped fund the Bentway) had put up some cash to pay for an EA and prelim design. But Council also passed a motion that "the final construction of this project will not be funded by the City ahead of urgent vision zero and state of good repair projects."
It'll definitely look pretty ridiculous if City Hall completes this road resurfacing/bike lane work and then starts tearing it up for University Park in a few years, but I'm not optimistic enough to think University Park is something that'll reach the construction stage in the next few years.
Does the bid award for University Avenue meant the the University Park proposal is going to be pushed even further into the future if it even happens?
